Travel and Accommodations

Lodging

The U of O Ducks decided to play a home football game on our celebration day (probably in honor of us, right?). People really, really love their Ducks and hotels are likely to fill up months in advance for Saturday night. We have provided several options here, and encourage you to book your lodging as soon as possible. Please let us know if you have questions or concerns.

Hotels: Most hotels in town have raised prices for Saturday night due to the football game. This is a one-night rate change, so a 2- or 3-night stay averages to a more reasonable rate. Like hotels, Airbnbs are likely to fill up, and early reservations are encouraged. Here are some suggestions, but please find what works for you.

  • Hayward Inn: $$$, 13 min drive to venue; high-end hotel with modern aesthetic, located across from U of O campus, easy access to river paths for walking/running/biking (25% discount on rates outside of 8/30 available, please contact us for code)

  • Hyatt Place Eugene: $$$, 16 min drive to venue, recently built, high-end hotel across the river from downtown in a walkable outdoor shopping center with restaurants and shops (15% discount available, please contact us for code)

  • Inn at the 5th: $$$$, 16 min drive to venue, luxury hotel downtown with upscale, charming aesthetic and easy access to restaurants, shops and riverfront walking paths

  • Comfort Inn Suites: $$, 13 min drive to venue, standard hotel located near campus and parks on edge of Eugene

  • Cottage Grove Inn: $$, 20 min drive to venue, budget hotel south of Eugene with quick access to Lake Dorena for outdoor beauty and adventure

  • Relax Inn-Cottage Grove: $, 21 min drive to venue, bare bones, older budget hotel south of Eugene with quick access to Lake Dorena for outdoor beauty and adventure

Dorms: Given the difficulty of finding affordable hotels, we are arranging for interested guests to stay at dormitories on the University of Oregon campus. These are single or double twin bed rooms and include bedding and towels for about $50 per person, per night. Our guests will be staying on a private floor. Fun, right? Let us know as soon as possible if you are interested; we are managing the booking.

Camping: Armitage County Park is a riverside campground about 15 minutes from the venue. Reservations are available here.

Getting Here

Plane: The Eugene Airport (EUG) is a midsize airport serviced by 7 airlines with direct flights to 17 cities and connections around the world. The Portland Airport (PDX) is two hours away.

Train: The Amtrak Cascades and Coast Starlight routes stop at the Eugene Train station downtown.

Getting Around

Car Rental: The easiest way to get around and explore the area is with a car.

Rideshare/Taxi: Uber, Lyft, and several local cab companies all serve Eugene, though may not have as fast pickup times as larger cities.

Public Transit: We support LTD, our local public bus system, which provides service through town. The $1.75 fare can be paid via cash (exact change only) or through the Umo Mobility App. Unfortunately, there is no bus route to the venue.

Bikeshare: Our local bikeshare, PeaceHealth Rides, provides bike rentals throughout town and is a fun way to explore a very bike-friendly city.

We are hoping to provide some transportation assistance to and from the celebration. Please stay tuned.
